In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

What have you learned from your audience feedback?

Editing Day 1

As our first day of filming we focused on getting the necessary skills to continue the project and edit efficiently throughout. Initially myself and Jack alternated in the editing with Emily suggesting things to be incorporated post-production and assisting us.

Filming Day 4

On day 4 of filming we went to an alley location in order to get more shots to fill the gaps in the intro of our music video. We attempted to get a lot of shots which involved the pig mask and I had various ideas on achieving specific shots from different unused angles which we shot successfully.

How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?

How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?

Our ancillary texts including CD Cover and advertisement were very successful when combined with our music video. The general theme was underground and anonymous which relates directly to the genre of drum and bass.

With that when focusing on the colours, we gave the cover and advertisements both a very dark colour scheme in order to create and sustain that unknown, gritty feel and we also kept it very simplistic and sleek which was a common theme of our genre.

Furthermore we made sure that the artist was sustained and present throughout the cover as that is conventional. However we kept to the anonymous feel by blurring, smudging and distorting the face of the performer.

Also, the text on the video is very simple but slightly stylish to show that modern and 'cool' side to the genre, which links directly with our music video along with the general style of it with the graffiti on both of them.
